abstract
  • The Automated Recharge Activity Module, also known as the AURA Module, was a device crated by Project VULCAN to be equipped with every Marine to improve their survivability. The AURA was compatible with all forms of known armour, allowing it to be easily retrofitted onto any armour unit. The AURA Module is a small solid state hydrogen battery affixed to a computer system which is linked to the shielding emitters on the armour. The AURA Module has the ability to commence a near instant shield 'recharge' by acting as a temporary emergancy emitter, capable of holding shields online for almost an hour on a full charge, though will be reduced to twenty minutes under heavy fire. This means when the primary shield goes offline, the AURA Module can bring on a near instant shield at full strength, ensuring enhanced survivability. When this goes off, the user is truly vulnerable, until their primary shield can recharge. The AURA Module gradually replenishes itself from kinetic or heat energy skimmed off from energy put into the shields by enemy ordnance, to keep itself charged.
