As this year's guest participant, the song had a direct qualification into the grand final along with the host country Austria and the Big Five. This was done to allow the countries still having to go through the semifinals a fair and equal shot at qualifying on their own. In the final, Australia performed 12th following Cyprus and preceding Belgium. At the close of voting, it finished in 5th place with 196 points with 2 sets of 12-point scores, the first Eurovision participant outside the European Broadcasting Area to do so.
