He led the Five Suns Gang, which became infamous on Coruscant and rivaled the Black Sun and Hutt Cartel for control of the world's underworld. Born on the the world of Raxus in the Outer Rim Territories during the late years of the Galactic Republic, most of Valvis' relatives died of disease or starvation. On his own, Valvis became a supporter of the rising Separatist movement, which promised to bring prosperity to Raxus. Around 23 BBY, the young man joined the Separatist Droid Army, and was made a lieutenant. He fought on Geonosis in 22 BBY and continued to serve throughout the Clone Wars in many battles. But in 19 BBY, during the Battle of Coruscant, Valvis' unit was completely decimated, and he, as the lone survivor, fled into the Coruscant underworld to escape Republic forces.
