- Notable queens of the Amazons are Penthesilea, who participated in the Trojan War, and her sister Hippolyta, whose magical girdle was the object of one of the labours of Hercules. Amazonian raiders were often depicted in battle with Greek warriors in amazonomachies in classical art. The Amazons have become associated with various historical peoples throughout the Roman Empire period and Late Antiquity. In Roman historiography, there are various accounts of Amazon raids in Asia Minor. From the Early Modern period, their name has become a term for woman warriors in general.
- The Amazons were a legend on Earth told of a tribe of women warriors descended from the god of war. Their government and society was ruled solely be women. Daniel Jackson brought the legend up when SG-1 encountered the Hak'tyl Resistance, a group of female Jaffa warriors, which was similar to the legend. (SG1: "Birthright")
- The Amazons are ruled by a queen who dealt with outsiders, such as Oran, by placing them into gladiatorial matches with her pet a giant reptile resembling a dinosaur or dragon. A mutual attraction between Oran and the Amazonian Queen was seemingly developing, but never the less the queen threw the handsome newcomer to the beast lest he interfere with her plans. After being informed by Oran, The Brazilian army destroyed and apprehended the Amazonian forces swiftly using their tanks.
- The Amazons were known in around Caucasus and Asia Minor, according to Aeschylus, these warriors who were women lived someplace in Caucasus, they later migrated to the coasts of Asia Minor.
- The Amazons are a brave female-only tribe living in the wilderness, deep in the Turkish forest. Being warriors, they are no damsels in distress and can stand their ground to fight valiantly when attacked. They are rather suspicious when it comes to strangers and don't let them pass their borders. Being highly suspicious of men in general, these female warriors do not trust men easily, even acting cautious when convinced such men are friendly. While they seem to be rough and no-nonsense at first sight, they can be very hospitable toward their guests. They are currently led by young queen Hippolyta. She inherited this title from her mother when she died.
- The Amazons are a tribe of female warriors, who worship war gods and goddesses such as Ares, Athena, or Bellona. They are similar to the Hunters of Artemis, except they are allowed to get married and have relationships with men.
- The Amazons were a tribe of all-female warriors who resided in Libya or Anatolia. They sided with Troy in the Trojan War. Notable queens include Penthesilea and her sister Hippolyta, who married Theseus.
- This race of super-women are not to be confused with any indigenous people residing near the Amazon River. These Amazonians are a race of humans, that have thrived in peace for centuries. Queen Hippolyta rules them with justice. They are watched over by the goddesses, Athena and Aphrodite, who are actually a race of beings from the planet Caltos. Princess Diana, left her protective nation of sisterhood, renouncing her immortality to fight the forces of evil in Man’s World as Wonder Woman.
- The Amazons are an all-female race of demihuman monsters.
- The Amazons are an all-female society of superhumans, based on the Amazons of Greek mythology. There have been three major incarnations of these Amazons, one before the Crisis, and two after. What two of these groups have in common is that they are the race which produced Wonder Woman. The third group of Amazons call themselves Bana-Mighdallians.
- The Amazons (female warriors from Greek mythology) were one of the groups that stormed the UCLA campus looking for Venus. This event helped start up the Champions.
- The Amazons are a tribe consisting of warriors. We are introduced to them early in series 2 when the female leader takes part in the first tribe leaders' meeting.

- Notable queens of the Amazons are Penthesilea, who participated in the Trojan War, and her sister Hippolyta, whose magical girdle, given to her by her father Ares, was the object of one of the labours of Hercules. Amazonian raiders were often depicted in battle with Greek warriors in amazonomachies in classical art.
- Amazons are a group of woman head-hunters. They are not cannibals, they simply seem to keep their victims' heads as trophies. All kinds of amazons are skilled distance fighters and they are fond of gems and jewelry. They will defend their homes with great ferocity. Their largest camp is located in the Green Claw Swamp near Venore, it is the Venore Amazon Camp, and they do not stray very far from here except to raid nearby human settlements to the north-west. They very rarely will travel through the swamp. All Amazons have a slight weakness to Death Damage and Physical Damage.
- The idea of a society run by and for women excited the Ancient Greek (male) sexual imagination. Amazonians were considered worthy foes and appeared in the Trojan War exchanging blows with the Greeks. This allowed a generous amount of nude statuary to decorate many temples with graphic depictions of naked men and women fighting to the death. Curiously, the Amazonians were not accused of being lesbians as, correctly, Ancient Greeks identified that tribe with the women of Lesbos who had killed every male in a dispute about personal hygiene. The Amazonians were therefore regarded as possible dates for many a foolish adventurer.
- The Amazons or Amazon Pirates are Nancy and Peggy Blackett. They are the owners of the Amazon dinghy. Though a very small crew, Nancy and Peggy are both very talented sailors, and have evidently made good use of their boat. They function as a typical crew: Nancy gives orders, Peggy follows them. Peggy, the mate of the "Amazon" seemed to be in charge of the ship's food, like Susan, the mate of "Swallow" (SA11). The Amazons are Eels, by the act becoming blood brothers and sisters.
- Amazons are skilled and challenging women that wield an elemental spear which can be used to throw, fight with, and project powerful blasts. Also, these warriors can summon Harpies to harm Kratos, as well as hang on to their talons if injured by him. They are first encountered in a small ruined area near the foot of Apollo, as well as various other locations on the Statue of Apollo. If they are stunned by Kratos (golden halo), he can grab them and slam them to the ground three times with his Blades, gaining golden orbs at each slam.
