Each town has two (2) garrison limits, one for each of the following types of attacks: 1. * Land based attacks. 2. * Sea based attacks. If your defending military/fleet exceeds this limit, then you will be forced to fight on open battlefield format until your losses bring your total military/fleet size below your Garrison Limit. Land based attacks: You will lose the protection provided by the Town wall, as it will not take part in the battle until your army becomes smaller than your Garrison Limit and can retreat behind it.
