The Bangladesh Navy is undergoing major transformation since last decade. In 2010 contracts were signed for a total of 11 ships out of which 8 are new construction. Two Agusta Westland AW 109 E maritime helicopters were delivered in July 2011. On 23 June 2011 contract was signed with Ruag for supply of 2 Dornier 228 NG MPA.
