As budgets for the sponsoring organizations are tight, more cooperation and more discussion is needed. Additionally, as budgets are tight for the participants and their families, more awareness, planning and thrift is called for. Many of the PPS students can't afford costly club dues, association memberships, personal trainers nor regional and national travel to competitions. These staples of sports are more common in the more affluent communities. In Pittsburgh, we have to work harder and communicate more deeply so wiser decisions can be deployed. Example: The global, on-going frustrations with a lack of communications among important decision makers in PPS are too many to list.
