It was well known for its courage, and its high casualty rate, often volunteering for the most dangerous assignments. But it had a darker side, one that it carefully hid from Alliance High Command. Pulviir carefully selected his soldiers from among the most villainous members of the Alliance— bounty hunters, criminals and Imperial defectors who had refrained from telling everything they did before joining the Rebellion, mercenaries, pirates, Seperatists, and smugglers. Then he made them loyal to Rebel Group MT50 first and the Alliance second. As a result he was able to order his men to commit acts during missions that were contrary to the ethics of the Alliance and make sure the reports they filed after each mission altered or left out incriminating details. Eventually, in the days of the New Republic, the atrocities committed by Group MT50 came to light and the unit was disbanded and its officers court-martialed and imprisoned.
