The Almost-Vanilla Tournament, or The Trio's Almost-Vanilla Tournament, was a tournament co-hosted by portalbob340, _Zenith_, and llyair from March 21st–April 21st, 2015. As its name suggests, the style of the tournament was very similar to the traditional one of playing specific songs each round and aiming to achieve the highest raw score possible. Specifically, each participant played two songs each round, where songs were specific to the participant's division placement, and the raw score was cumulative over all six rounds. The winner in each division was the player with the highest raw score at the end of the tournament.

Specifically, each participant played two songs each round, where songs were specific to the participant's division placement, and the raw score was cumulative over all six rounds. The winner in each division was the player with the highest raw score at the end of the tournament. Another aspect of this tournament was that players could submit song choices for each round. Of all the songs submitted in each division, one song would be randomly chosen to be played in the subsequent round. This meant there was one "host-chosen" song and one "player-chosen" song played in each round. In addition, this tournament used automatic score recording on the spreadsheet, so players were not required to submit screenshots or replays of their scores in-thread. The tournament included six rounds with approximately five days per round. The final round also included a sponcon. Players were initially placed using the Skill Rating system, with adjustments made as necessary. There were six divisions instead of seven since there were no sign-ups in Division 1.
