Arachnians are a highly intelligent race of spider-like beings. Although highly intelligent, they are a chaotic race of very cruel beings. Due to their temprament, they do not speak much to other races. They either can not, or will not, speak Common. Despite not being able to cast spells, Arachnians have the ability to web their foe, immobilizing them. They also can bite. Their carapices are very thick, leaving them highly resistant to destructive magick and fairly resistant to beneficial spells.

abstract	Arachnians are a highly intelligent race of spider-like beings. Although highly intelligent, they are a chaotic race of very cruel beings. Due to their temprament, they do not speak much to other races. They either can not, or will not, speak Common. Much of their cruelty stems from the fact, according to legend, that they were at one time able to use magick, but during a bloody battle with the Frontacian race of Penthania (see Penthanian), an Unmagick was released, stripping them of spellcasting ability. While they loathe all the races, they show extreme hatred towards all Penthanians, as well as to Secian, as they view this race as inherently magick. Arachnians will occasionally be seen in the company of others, primarily those who do not use magick. Despite not being able to cast spells, Arachnians have the ability to web their foe, immobilizing them. They also can bite. Their carapices are very thick, leaving them highly resistant to destructive magick and fairly resistant to beneficial spells. Female Arachnians are stronger than males, and the leader of the race is a female known as the Matriarch. Many Arachnians make Rathan or Fort Tarath their home, while Emjedah, as a City of Magick, is loathed and shunned by them.
