He played for the junior Winnipeg Columbus Club in 1927-28 and then played senior hockey in Winnipeg from 1928 to 1930. THe New York Rangers signed him as a free agent in 1930 and assigned him to the Springfield Indians. Starr played there until the franchise folded in the early part of the 1932-33 season when he was traded to the New York Americans. Starr got his NHL start with the Americans in 1932-33, scoring 4 goals and 3 assists in 26 games. His rights were then sold to the Detroit Red Wings in 1933 where he played on-and-off for three seasons. His year of death is unknown.
