abstract
| - On 18 October 2008 Rovers played at Huddersfield Town's Galpharm Stadium in a League One match. Rovers' recent record against Huddersfield had been poor, with a run of eleven games without victory over the Yorkshire club stretching back over 19 years. Rovers hoped to turn that poor run around, and confidence was high with the club being on a run of four games without defeat and Huddersfield struggling for league form going into the match. An injury to Danny Coles in the previous game against Leyton Orient meant that Byron Anthony started for the first time since his sending off earlier in the season. The rest of the starting lineup was unchanged however. The bench saw Joe Jacobson and Josh Klein-Davies replace Anthony and Tom Parrinello. The Huddersfield starting eleven included former Rovers goalkeeper Matt Glennon, who played a single game for the club during a loan spell in the 2000-01 season. Huddersfield took the lead early in the game through Michael Flynn, and although Rovers had much the better of the remainder of the game they only managed a single goal, thanks to Rickie Lambert latching on to a ball from Craig Disley. Rovers extended the unbeaten run to five games, but yet again failed to beat Huddersfield Town, maintaining their status as a bogey club for the Pirates.
