| - __NOWYSIWYG__ Hello! I have been on chat quite frequently, and think that the community should consider having chat mods to help administrators around the chat (which most of them never enter by the way). The chat moderators are able to kick people from the chat as a warning and ban them from the chat. The chat moderators could help out if there is a user who uses language that is really uncalled for or if a user starts spamming, or flooding the chat. As such, I think the community should consider opining up a request for chat moderator rights where users can request becoming chat mods. The page could be created using the requests for rollback page as a sample. 22:18, March 2, 2015 (UTC) I agree. Even though the chat isn't very busy, and most people there listen to reason, from time to time it would be useful to have a someone there who could wield a little bit of authority in there. I thikn it would be a good idea. File:Airbending emblem.png AvatarAang7File: Aang Cosmic.gif 21:43, March 4, 2015 (UTC) I disagree, since there is, at this point, absolutely no need for this. Our chat isn't that busy overall and ever since we enabled the feature, only 7 bans were needed (five of which happened during the Bryke Q/A and 2 due to an underaged user -last one was of October 28, 2014 I might add), and never before was a message sent to one of the administrators asking to intervene, so that doesn't exactly indicate a need for more moderators. The administrators are only a message away and with our current traffic, that's sufficient in my opinion. 00:32, March 5, 2015 (UTC) I still think it is a good idea to have them. Yes, while it is true that not many people enter the chat nowadays, it's always better to have someone with authority should things ever get out of hand. The administrators automatically have chat moderator abilities, so they can handle any issues should they arise. The chat is simply too inactive for chat moderators to have a position of their own for now. The 4th Avatar 02:54, March 5, 2015 (UTC) This is going to be one of those situations in which LL and I agree on something. I've been on the chat a few times lately, and typically there are no more than five users, if that. Even on the busier occasions, the flow of the chat is somewhat slow. I've never witnessed anything get out of hand, nor have I heard of an incident. Instead of having a chat moderator tasked with overseeing a little-used and virtually never problematic chat function, it would be simpler for someone who spots inappropriate behavior to notify an admin on the rare chance something does occur. I do not believe an official moderator is needed. 02:56, March 5, 2015 (UTC) Per others in opposition - the chat is not all that active and there does not seem to have been very much disruption at all that would warrant the need for additional moderators. 03:01, March 5, 2015 (UTC)
