After independence from Yugoslavia, Bled joined the Slovenian Ice Hockey League, where they played from 1991-2003. They were relatively successful in the league, finishing third on seven different occasions (1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002). The club suffered financial difficulties in the latter portion of the 1990s and dissolved after the 2002-03 season.

Bled also played alongside Austrian and Italian teams in the Alpenliga from 1995-1999. In 1994-95 the club played in the Six Nations Tournament tournament as HK Sportina Bled. Bled later played in the multi-national Interliga in the 2000-01 and 2002-03 seasons. The club suffered financial difficulties in the latter portion of the 1990s and dissolved after the 2002-03 season.
