Hengha is an Abdeenian ranger who was once Captain Hengsha De Jun, leader of Hengsha's Runners, a patrolling unit from House Jun who were in charge of securing the waterways on House Jun's lands. When she disobeyed orders to retrieve a shipment of food (stolen by starving peasants) she had her throat cut in a public execution. Hengsha survived, and with the aid of her men she fled Aberdeen with her troops and her families. As a result of her injury, she is nearly mute. Possibly romantically linked to Freyden.

She made it as far as a tiny, unnamed island off the coast near Rappan Athuk, and took up piracy, raiding Mirrax Marine ships for supplies and food. Captain Killingsworth (in a temporary alliance with Captain "Bloody" Jackson) led a gang of mercenaries against her, and succeeded in capturing her. She surrendered, and was subsequently hired by Shades as a Patrol captain. Possibly romantically linked to Freyden.
