In Romanian and Besarabian mythology, Blajini ("gentle/kind-hearted ones") are creatures inhabiting world that is a mirror image of our own. They are described as anthropomorphic and short, occasionally having the head of a rat. Different sources describe them as having great respect for God/Gods and living a sinless life. However in, amongst others the Matrice Granit, Blajini are referred to as dead children who did not receive the benediction of the Holy Spirit.
