After the publishing of several poems, his works were received with more interest on an international area and he began presenting them on tours around the world. By the 1890's, he had published his first novel, several playwrights, fairy-tails and essays. In 1891, he fell in love the son of a marquis, leaving him to be sentenced in 1895 for homosexual offenses. In 1897, he moved to France to escape the press, and met a Toreador Elder there; who was impressed by the young man’s works. Feeling that the Embrace would maybe reinvigorate him, the Toreador approached him and talked with him about the possibilities and limitations of immortality. In 1900, Wilde faked his own death and was reborn as a vampire, adopting the name Sebastian Melmoth as a pseudonym. He followed his sire in a world tour, eventual reaching San Francisco in 1908 and meeting with Vannevar Thomas, who would become prince of the domain a short period of time later. Melmoth adopted the city as his new home and quickly became a favorite of the local Kindred. It was also his idea to use a luxury yacht in the possession of Thomas for the construction of a club exclusively for vampires and their chosen retainers. Melmoth remained the owner of the club through the era of Prohibition, various earthquakes, the Great Depression, the fall of prince Vannevar, the declarations of the Anarch Free States and the occupation through the New Promise Mandarinate and he never found his customers wanting. His club became famous around the world as one of the few places where vampires of any allegiance could meet and Melmoth is already planning for the hundredth anniversary of the club.
