- The Baneriam hawk was a bird-of-prey known for its keen observation skills. Quark once told Odo, at a time when Quark's was empty and there was no one to watch, that Odo could take a chance to relax, yet he just sat there "like a Baneriam hawk looking for prey." (DS9: "If Wishes Were Horses")

(DS9: "If Wishes Were Horses") According to the RPG sourcebook Creatures, Baneriam hawks live in the highlands of Baneria. They have 1.5 meter wingspans, light-blue feathers around the belly and red feathers at the head and tail. A Baneriam hawk has keen vision and is even able to see in the infrared spectrum. The Baneriam people capture these animals and export them as luxury pets.
