  • The World Tree is a sacred tree located on a farm in Virginia where Shadow holds vigil for nine days over Mr. Wednesday's body.
  • The «World Tree» (世界樹, Sekaiju?), known as «Yggdrasil» (イグドラシル, Igudorshiru?) in ALfheim Online's lore, is the massive tree growing at the center of the land of Alfheim.
  • World Tree, po polsku Drzewo Życia to kluczowa lokacja występująca w grze Heroes Chronicles: The World Tree. Elfy nazywają to miejsce Korzeniami Życia.
  • World Tree (pol. Drzewo Świata) odnosi się do dwóch słynnych drzew w Azeroth: * Nordrassil, oryginalne Drzewo pobłogosławione aspektem smoka, * Teldrassil, drzewo stworzone przez Nocne elfy w nieudanej próbie przywrócenia mu mocy nieśmiertelności, * Idrassil to koncepcja artystyczna, którą można odnaleźć w sztuce i rysunkach o World of Warcraft.
  • Nordrassil, which means "Crown of the Heavens", was the original World Tree planted on the summit of Mount Hyjal after the War of the Ancients. It was blessed by the Dragon Aspects to grant immortality to the night elves and to allow their druids to enter the Emerald Dream. The power was unleashed after the Battle of Mount Hyjal.
  • Long ago, the Black Mage tried to rob the World Tree of her powers, but she escaped and retreated to the Root Abyss to recuperate. However, she was found by a commander of the Black Mage, Damien, who sent his generals to taint the area in order to keep her trapped inside. After the Alliance found her, they realize that something is keeping the World Tree at bay despite all the methods of escape being used. After defeating Damien's generals, the World Tree requests to see the world, since she has been underground for so long and has not been able to see the surface. However, the Alliance convinces her to rest in , as they both know she will be safer there. Upon arriving, the World Tree disappears into Shinsoo's crown jewel.
  • A gargantuan tree fills the sky. Usually situated in a breezy land of snow and ice or a sprawling forest or maybe even a green, green field. It can be seen from miles away... This is a very old archetype, one that spans the ages and cultures. It has been called Yggdrasil, the Axis Mundi, and The Tree of Life among other names. Many works of fiction have embraced it quite thoroughly. The World Tree may exist between worlds, with its roots in one and its branches in another. It may even be a Wood Between The Worlds. It's naturally a Genius Loci. See also The Tower. Examples of World Tree include:
  • The world tree is a motif present in several religions and mythologies, particularly Indo-European religions, Siberian religions, and Native American religions. The world tree is represented as a colossal tree which supports the heavens, thereby connecting the heavens, the earth, and, through its roots, the underground. It may also be strongly connected to the motif of the tree of life.
  • The World Tree is what remains of Ganishka's ascended body after Griffith killed him with the power of the Skull Knight's Sword of Actuation, a giant tree that consists of two immense, arching trunks that intertwine with branching reaching up to every part of the sky. It is directly underneath this tree that the city of Falconia sits.
  • The World Tree was a sentient tree-like cosmic structure in the World Tree cosmology model that connected all of the Celestial planes to each other, from its roots in Dwarfhome and Arvandor, its lower branches in Greenfields, the House of the Triad and Dweomerheart, its main trunk along the House of Knowledge, Golden Hills and Brightwater, and at the top was the Gates of the Moon. Normal planar travel used the Astral plane to pass from the Prime Material Plane to one of the other Outer planes and all inter-planar journeys had to pass through the Prime Material nexus. Angelic servants of the good deities used the tree as a kind of "celestial ladder" to avoid having to go through the Prime Material plane, although the tree did not enjoy being used as such. Mortal travelers would often meet t
  • The World Tree is a location in Antagarich that appears in The World Tree, the fifth part of Heroes Chronicles. Legends say that it is the source of all life. The Immortal Hero Tarnum was woken in the middle of the night by a cry from the Ancestors, telling him to "Save the World Tree". He knew that according to legend, the World Tree was the source of all life in the world, but he didn't know where it was or what it looked like. But he felt compelled to travel northeast, and eventually found the remnants of a barbarian tribe guarding the secret caves in a nearby mountain. Some necromancers had recently fought their way into the caves and never returned, so Tarnum led the tribe after them.
  • Yggdrasill, the Great Tree of Aselia, is found in the Forest of Spirits, which is the South Forest below Toltus in the present. Guarded by the Tree Spirit Martel, it is the source of mana from which magic and Spirits are born. By the beginning of the story, the tree is dead, leaving magic to be all but lost in the present. Some people of the Kingdom of Euclid also worship Yggdrasill as the Earth Spirit (大地の精霊 Daichi no Seirei?). When Cress Albane and Chester Burklight hunt in South Forest, Cress has a vision of the tree in its healthy state and of a woman who pleads to not defile the Tree.
  • In the beginning there was nothing but an endless Chaos that expanded forever. There was no good or evil, light or darkness, creation or destruction; just endless Chaos. At one point something happened; a single space within the Chaos expanded and a small seedling sprouted. The Chaos, not liking this new existence, tried to engulf it but the space just continued to expand. Eventually so large that the seedling became a mighty Tree. But that was not the end of the expansion. It continued to grow, spreading the Chaos into a thin layer.
