The A3400 is a road in the Midlands of England, ( it was formerly a section of the A34) running from a junction with the A44 near Chipping Norton in a northerly direction towards Birmingham, were it intersects the M42 at Hockley Heath (near Solihull) and rejoins the A34. At its southern end it starts at the A44 which passes through Woodstock and rejoins the Original A34 route at the Pear Tree Roundabout at Oxford. At its northern end it joins up with the A34, of which it was originally one section of. The road was renumbered in the early 1990s, following the completion of the M40 motorway took away most of its long-distance traffic, relieving the road of the traffic volume which it was designed for.
