Dungarees were originally designed by farmers in Cornwall when milking cows to avoid getting manure or dung on their Cornish pasties, which they kept in the pouch at the front. They were originally pink and yellow, as it was discovered that this increased the yield of milk. They are due to come back in fashion again in 2018, according to the theory of cyclical fashion.
