  • Shortly after he hatched along with Lewa and Kopaka, Pohatu found the partner Matoran and was sent to find the other members of his team. He succeeded in finding their empty canisters, and later the Toa themselves. He later travels to the Toa base with them. Not long after, they are attacked by the Makuta. Pohatu, Onua, and Photok hid underground for an ambush, which Kirka blocked, causing Tahu and Lewa to fall on top of them. The Toa ended up losing the battle. The Toa faced yet another threat -- The Barraki. Pohatu fought Kalmah for the battle and defeated him. Kalmah was captured by the Toa. When Pridak and Ehlek freed the Toa's prisoners, Pohatu and Onua confronted them. Pohatu was taken out by Ehlek's lightning. In between the capture of the Barraki and their release, Pohatu had obtained a Kikanalo, which he named Spike. The Makuta attacked the Toa again, and Pohatu battled Vamprah. During the battle, Spike took a hit for him, which caused the enraged Pohatu to crush Vamprah under a giant rock. However, Vamprah equipped Hydroblade, broke free, and defeated Pohatu and Spike. When Mazeka made the battle vehicles for the Toa, Pohatu was incompatible with any of them, so he rode Spike into battle against the Makuta. They battled Gorast and won, winning Pohatu's mask back. The team later journeyed to the Codrex, where they encountered the four other teams. Pohatu and Spike battle Vamprah, but it ended in a tie.
