  • Frozen Plateau is the 9th secret level in the Mushroom Kingdom, originally a level in Alternate Earth. It is a snow and ice-themed level where the player must navigate through a frozen cliff area, including navigating up a pit and across a field of Munchers. Many Goombas and Flurries have populated this area, as well as the Ice Climber polar bears, which can create earthquakes to stun the player.

Many Goombas and Flurries have populated this area, as well as the Ice Climber polar bears, which can create earthquakes to stun the player. A new feature to this stage are Coins frozen in ice blocks, for which you'll need Mario or Luigi's Fire Flower power to melt and get the treasures. However, there are nasty Munchers trapped in the ice as well, so be careful of those! Luckily, they are found under the frozen coins. There are also whirling platforms during the upward climb section and several unfrozen Muncher fields at the end, making this stage somewhat difficult.
