Rune Master' also known as Rune Sages or Runemisresses are rune shop dealers who sells different kinds of common rune crystals. These common runes include mainly the five elemental runes which are the Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind, and Earth runes and other ordinary runes. However, some rare or uncommon runes could be found and be bought in their 'Rare Finds' section.

- Level 105 Race(s): Elf Rune Masters are little more than advanced Elemental Masters. They excel in fighter and rogue buffing but little else. Rune Masters do, however, gain the only skill to inflict silence outright.
- The Rune Master is one of the final Upgrade Paths for Dwarfs. A Venerable Warrior upgrades to a Rune Master when the Rune Hall has been built in your capital. The Rune Master attacks with Axes and possesses the ability to attack twice round. Although they have more HP than the Dwarf King, the Rune Master does not have any armor, nor does it have the wards that the Dwarf King has.
- Rune Master is an elite unique Ettin Axe from Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. A rather strange unique weapon, Rune Master has no other inherent bonuses besides enhanced damage and a minimal boost to Cold Resist; its real strength is implied in its name. Rune Master has the potential to have one of the highest number of sockets out of any unique item. Therefore, by inserting powerful Runes, Gems or Jewels, a player can essentially customize the type of bonuses that Rune Master bestows.
- Any Wizard or Alchemist of sufficient learning has the potential to become a Rune Master and may enter the career simply by finding a Rune Master willing to teach them the skills. Wizards or Alchemists must complete their present career before going on to be a Rune Master. When characters join the Rune Master career, their career exits remain unchanged, reflecting their profession and level on entry. The only difference is that they may also choose to become an Artisan.
