Edward "Ed" Bishop was the stage name adopted by George Victor Bishop, a New York-born American actor best remembered for having provided the voice of Captain Blue in Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons and, later, also for having acted out the role of former United States Air Force Colonel Edward Straker, the Commander of S.H.A.D.O., or the Supreme Headquarters of the Alien Defence Organisation, in U.F.O., Gerry Anderson's very first live-action television series programme. He died during the first decade after the turn of the third millennium.
