The Ravagers are a band of mercenaries and thieves, lead by Yondu Udonta. They were hired by Peter Quill's father to bring the seven-year-old Peter to him after his mother's death. However, instead of sending him to his father, the Ravagers decided to raise Peter as one of their own. Twenty-six years later, Peter double-crosses Yondu in the retrieval of an artifact, causing Yondu to put a bounty of 40,000 credits on Peter's head.
