- In Egyptian mythology, Ma'at represents the concept of truth, balance, order, law, morality, and justice. All gods were required to respect Ma'at. She was sometimes portrayed as the daughter of Ra and often the consort of Thoth. She was aboard the Solar Barge. Maat is also personified as a goddess of order.
- Ma'at, in Ancient Egyptian mythology, is the goddess of Truth and Justice. Her symbol is an ostrich feather. In the Egyptian Judgement of the Dead, it was the feather of Ma'at that the heart of the deceased was weighed against.
- Ma'at is order and harmony as well as the creative power of the universe. Magicians often tattoo a hieroglyph of Ma'at on their tongues to help them speak spells clearly; Ma'at is represented by numerous things, including sphinxes. The opposite of Ma'at is portrayed by Isfet, Chaos.

- Ma'at was the first totem of the Ra-Tet, representing sunrise. Alongside Ashet, she was one of the two daylight totems and represented the benevolence of humanity. She was murdered by the Beast who ripped out her heart in order to employ it as part of a ritual to blot out the sun.
