The ennerlings were rarely larger than the palm of a Man's hand, but they spun strong, nearly invisible webs. These spiders injected a mild poison that caused pain and swelling, but their bites were not dangerous unless they accumulated. If more than 12 were received within 1 hour, the victim became paralyzed or died.
