Location Dagor Nalrieth was fought East of the Bay of Balar, in in the valley of Nolriar. Event description Elwe rallied the Noldor, joined by a company of reluctant Sindar, as fire-beasts and orcs approached, lead by one of Morgoth's lieutentants, the maiar Sauron. They were met by the Sindar and three companies of Noldor, while the rest fired arrows into Morgoth's ranks. Both armies were destroyed, only Sauron, Grokshar, Elwe, and three other elves escaping. Three weeks later, dragon-fire destroyed the battlefield, leaving only ashes.
