She built a reputation within the intelligence community when she was ordered to hunt down and arrest her brother, a pro-democracy activist. Her brother was later executed by her superiors. Ling is ordered to infiltrate the hijacked vessel the Spencer Rain in the Atlantic Ocean in order to eliminate Morpheus D. Duvall and obtain the T/G-Virus. Initially apathetic towards the presence of a rival operative, Ling must ultimately utilise Bruce McGivern's combat prowess in order to survive their precarious situation.

  • Después de que le ordenaran arrestar a su hermano y a una activista por el delito de conspiración contra al gobierno, y ver como los ejecutaban por sus actos aprendió a no dejarse llevar por sus sentimientos y así se convirtió en la primera agente mujer del departamento. Su misión era la de Infiltrarse en el crucero de lujo llamado Spencer Rain para frustrar los planes de Morpheus D. Duvall quien pretendia usar las muestras del Virus-T que habia robado. Sin embargo, al rendirse el gobierno para el que trabajaba, decidieron que ya no era necesaria en la misión y pronto descubriría que las cosas son distintas a como creía y que la lealtad hacia su país nunca sería recompensada.
