Leonard Joseph Fontaine (born February 25, 1948 in Quebec City, Quebec) is a Canadian right winger who played for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. He played Junior "B" for the Sarnia Legionnaires in 1967-68 and then turned pro with the Port Huron Flags of the International Hockey League (IHL) the following season. With the Flags he was a second All-Star in 1970-71 and a first All-Star in 1971-72. Fontaine also won the Leo P. Lamoureux Memorial Trophy as the league leading scorer in 1971-72. This prompted the Detroit Red Wings to sign him as a free agent in 1972.

With the Flags he was a second All-Star in 1970-71 and a first All-Star in 1971-72. Fontaine also won the Leo P. Lamoureux Memorial Trophy as the league leading scorer in 1971-72. This prompted the Detroit Red Wings to sign him as a free agent in 1972. He played in 39 games for the Red Wings in 1972-73 and another 7 in 1973-74 but he did not make it as a regular. Fontaine played for the Michigan Stags of the World Hockey Association in 1974-75 but then returned to the Port Huron Flags. In 1975-76 he scored 112 points to win another Leo P. Lamoureux Memorial Trophy and also won the James Gatschene Memorial Trophy as Most Valuable Player and was a first All-Star. In 1976-77 he joined the Toledo Goaldiggers, also of the IHL, for five seasons. He then played two seasons with the Flint Generals of the IHL. He retired in 1983 as one of the leading scorers in the IHL. In the NHL Fontaine scored 8 goals and 11 assists in 46 games.
