Leonard Joseph Fontaine (born February 25, 1948 in Quebec City, Quebec) is a Canadian right winger who played for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. He played Junior "B" for the Sarnia Legionnaires in 1967-68 and then turned pro with the Port Huron Flags of the International Hockey League (IHL) the following season. With the Flags he was a second All-Star in 1970-71 and a first All-Star in 1971-72. Fontaine also won the Leo P. Lamoureux Memorial Trophy as the league leading scorer in 1971-72. This prompted the Detroit Red Wings to sign him as a free agent in 1972.
