Isidore Morris Vogler (1905-1960) was a local Labour Party politician in the East End of London. Born in Mile End as Israel Moses Vogler, he was the son of a Polish immigrant tailor. He trained to become a primary school teacher at Goldsmiths College and taught at schools in Wapping, Limehouse and Poplar. He joined the Labour Party when he was 17 and became the party's leader in the Metropolitan Borough of Stepney. In 1934, when he was an assistant schoolmaster at St Paul's Junior Boy's School in Stepney, he was elected Mayor of Stepney. Aged 29, he was the youngest mayor in England or Wales.
