Nation Song Contest 44 was the 44th edition of the Nation Song Contest and was hosted by Scorpionia after their third win in the previous contest, NSC 43, and the host did the double for the first time since NSC 23, winning once again. 54 nations took part, including Zoran's Islands, who took part for the first time. Gozitania, Tova and Lost Isle was forced to withdraw due to voting failure in the final of the last edition, and Prasia and Saint Joe & Southgulfia also did not compete out of choice. From this edition onwards Sillycone Valley will compete as Groonrorm, after a name change shortly after NSC 43 concluded.
