Reinhart made the jump directly to the Flames in 1979-80 and stayed with them as they moved to Calgary in 1979-80. He was the Flames top defenceman through the years. By 1987-88 chronic back problems had made him expendable. Reinhart was traded to the Vancouver Canucks where he played for two seasons. Reunhart retired in 1980, never having played a game in minor pros. He played in the NHL All Star Game in 1985 & 1989. He also played for Canada in the 1981 Canada Cup.
