Despite scoring a double podium at its first race, the Australian Grand Prix, the car performed somewhat disappointingly, as McLaren was left to fight for fifth place in the championship with Force India, a battle the British team won. The MP4-29 was the most mechanically reliable car, being classified every race except Bahrain and Singapore, where Magnussen and Button retired from these races respectively. Ultimately, McLaren finished fifth in the Constructors' Championship. __TOC__
