Louie Gallo is an officer with the Internal Affairs Division of the Metro-Dade Police Department. He, along with Officer Ben Dokes, interrogated detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Trudy Joplin over the shooting of the man who tried to rip-off Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs and two others involved in a drug deal at a bar. Gallo was particularly rough on Trudy, angering Crockett, who vigorously defended Trudy's actions and felt insulted that two "desk jockeys" could tell the field cops how to handle certain situations the IAD officers would not be involved in, and stormed out. Later Gallo and Dokes cleared Crockett and Trudy, with lots of "cautionary language".
