  • Brian Donald Young (born October 2, 1958 in Jasper, Alberta) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played eight games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks. Young was chosen 63rd overall by the Hawks in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He spent the majority of his career with Schwenningen ERC of the Bundesliga. Turning pro in 1978, he played for the New Brunswick Hawks from 1978 to 1980 and for the Dallas Black Hawks in 1980-81. Young got into 8 games for Chicago in 1980-81, scoring 2 assists.

  • Brian Donald Young (born October 2, 1958 in Jasper, Alberta) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played eight games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks. Young was chosen 63rd overall by the Hawks in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He spent the majority of his career with Schwenningen ERC of the Bundesliga. He played Tier II Junior "A" for the Estevan Bruins in 1974-75 and then major junior with the New Westminster Bruins from 1975 to 1978. The Bruins won the Memorial Cup in 1977 and 1978. He also played for Canada at the 1978 World Junior Championship, winning a bronze medal. Turning pro in 1978, he played for the New Brunswick Hawks from 1978 to 1980 and for the Dallas Black Hawks in 1980-81. Young got into 8 games for Chicago in 1980-81, scoring 2 assists. After playing only two games for New Brunswick in the 1981-82 season, Young jumped to the Schwenningen ERC in Germany. He played four seasons there and then played two seasons for Kölner Haie. In 1987 Young went to Switzerland and played three seasons for EHC Chur. He retired in 1990.
