Power over Time (PoT) is a special buff that can be provided to group members by a Controller. It is represented by a green lightning bolt. The Power over Time buff restores 6 ticks of Power to group members within line of sight of the controller. A group member will lose the Power over Time buff if knocked out. Vitalization affects the power generation provided by the Power over Time buff. 10 points of Vitalization increases base power generation by 1%. Critical Power Chance and Critical Power Magnitude can also improve power generation. Only one normal Power over Time buff can be active on a player at any given time. Normal Power over Time effects do not stack. If a second controller in a group activates a Power over Time ability, it will override the original buff. For this reason, whenever there are multiple controllers in a group, it is important that only the player with highest vitalization maintains the Power over Time buff to achieve maximum power restoration while other controllers provide instant power and opponent debuffs. Each Controller power set has 2 Tier 1 abilities that provide Power over Time effects. Note that supercharge Power over Time abilities, such as Battle Drone, Word of Power or Bastion use a different Power over Time stack that does not interfere with the normal Controller Power over Time buff. Using a Power over Time ability while another buff is active does not stack and will override the current buff effect. Normal Power over Time abilities provide 5 ticks of power after the initial tick. So there is a tick of power every 5 seconds over a span of 25 seconds. The Power over Time buff then must be renewed. If a player activates a Power over Time abilty after 20 seconds, there will be a Double tick on the final tick. Reactivating the power at the 20th second will reset the cycle and produce a double tick.
