| - Paul Pettit is a former NASCAR driver from Danbury, CT. He competed in twelve Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. Pettit's debut came during the 1950 season, when he competed at Vernon. It was a struggle for the driver, only finishing 23rd in the field of twenty-nine. Pettit still stepped it up to a four-race schedule during the 1951 season, which was Pettit's busiest year on the circuit. Still, it was a mixed year for the driver. He had some good runs, finishing 16th at Columbia and then showing 19th at Morristown. But those runs were sandwiched by some poor efforts, as Pettit was also 34th at Pittsburgh and 28th at Thompson. Three more starts were up for Pettit during the 1952 season, when he started the year off at Daytona Beach for the first time. It was a nice day on the Beach for Pettit, who wound up finishing 22nd in the huge field of sixty-one. But again, Pettit had that solid effort undone by some struggles, showing 31st at Langhorne due to a crash and then showing a midpack 15th at Canfield. Pettit did not return to the sport until the 1954 season, but it turned out to be a good return for the driver when he competed at Langhorne. Starting positions in the field of twenty-five are unknown, but Pettit ran a solid race and wound up with a career-best 5th place finish. But once again, inconsistency bit Pettit, finishing 22nd at Martinsville with a broken transmission. Pettit's final two races came during the 1955 season, when he started off the year at Rochester. It was a rough race for the driver, though, blowing a fuel pump to finish 19th in the field of twenty-one. He fared no better in his last showing, breaking a spring to finish 16th in a nineteen-car field at Fonda.
