The Tongue was a narrow strip of land, south of Caras Galadhon, in the realm of Lórien where the river Celebrant (Silverlode) flowed into the Anduin. The Tongue was treeless field covered with a green lawn flowering with bright golden Elanor plants. On its western bank was a hythe where the elves moored boats to travel along either of the two rivers. It was here that the Fellowship embarked on their journey down the Anduin.
