- Family Feud is a televised game show that pits two families of five against each other in a contest to guess the most popular responses to surveys posed to groups of 100 people. The show was first hosted by Richard Dawson (1976-85/1994-95), who was succeeded by Ray Combs (1988-94), Louie Anderson (1999-2002), Richard Karn (2002-06), John O'Hurley (2006-10), and Steve Harvey (2010-present).
- Family Feud is a spin-off from Match Game’s big money "Super Match" bonus round. This show is where two families battle it out by answering surveys to win points. The first to reach a set number of points/dollars (originally 200 in the pilot and first season, then 300, and 400 during Dawson's 1984-85 season and their "Tournament of Champions" episode) gets a chance to play Fast Money for a grand cash prize. Each family has 5 members per team, except from 1994 to 1995, when there were only 4 members per team. During the one-hour versions from 1992 to 1995, two new families competed in the first half-hour for the right to face the champions in the second half. Early in Dawson's season, the winners of the first half competed in the second half against a family from the original Dawson era.
- The Griffins encounter another band of survivors in "Da Boom" that try to make them answer a question as a parody of the show. Peter Griffin, as the host of the show in "Stewie B. Goode", the first segment of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, cops a feel from one of the female contestants ala Richard Dawson, who always kissed the ladies on the show. In "Stewie Goes for a Drive", a cutaway gag of The Price is Right is featured but the music in the background is reminiscent of that of Family Feud.
- This game is where a survey question is read and you have to guess the answers the survey said. Correct answers give you points based on how many people said the same answer. If the answer isn't correct, you get a strike. Three strikes and the opponent gets a chance to steal. Should you sweep the board or your opponent fails to steal, you win the points. The first family to amass 300 points or more wins the game and gets to play the Fast Money Round.
