Dans ce jeu, le Chef Torte et son apprenti sont chargés de faire le plus gros gâteau possible pour le mariage de Booster et Peach. Une fois fini leur gâteau nommé Bundt, les deux Koopas se précipitent vers la salle du mariage pour y apporter leur chef-d’œuvre. Malheureusement pour eux, Mario réussit à empêcher Booster que le mariage ait lieu et sauve la Princesse Peach. Le Chef Torte se met en colère car il sait que si le mariage a été annulé, personne ne mangera son magnifique gâteau qu'il a préparé avec soin. Lui et son apprenti attaque donc Mario et ses alliés. Le Chef Torte et son apprenti agissent pareil qu'un koopa armé dans la bataille, il court vers un allié de Mario puis le gifle. Ces deux koopas sont invincibles par rapport à l'histoire (où ils devront survivre) donc Mario doit concentrer ses attaques sur le Bundt qui se situe à l'arrière. Puis, peu à peu, le gâteau va bouger. Alors l'apprenti signale à son chef que "notre merveille" commence à bouger mais celui-ci fait la sourde oreille comme quoi ce serait tout bonnement impossible. Après que le gâteau ait bougé trois fois, Bundt prend vie tellement qu'il a été fait par des énormes soins culinaires le rendant vivant. Le Chef Torte et son apprenti fuient donc à la vue de cette nouvelle, laissant Mario et ses amis combattre le gâteau.
