Escape Pod is a magazine-style podcast launched on 08 April, 2007 which provides insight into British television in the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres, with an emphasis on the former. British Invaders provides several types of content. A science fiction series generally earns two podcasts, with the first being an objective introduction to what the series is about, and the second, the hosts' opinions of how it worked, and what didn't work, comparing it to other British science fiction. Shorter series (such as Sapphire and Steel or Starcops) may only receive a single episode. Finally, there are Bonus episodes that contain errata on previous episodes, reading of viewer comments and discussion of the upcoming agenda.

British Invaders was founded by Brian Doob from Canada, and Xander from England. Xander left British Invaders after Episode 11, and was replaced by Eamonn Clarke. Britishinvaders' theme was composed by Brian Doob, consisting of several stock chords looped, and placed in a swelling crescendo. The logo was composed by Xander. This new podcast dedicated to British scifi looks at SF television and movies from across the pond, and the decades — takes each one apart, examines them closely, as only a software guru and physicist can, and meticulously puts everything back together again so that by the end of their discussion their topic has not only been thoroughly examined but has just that right touch of class indeed. —Sam, SliceOfScifi.com
