He has been acting since the 1960s, guest starring on Leave it to Beaver and starring on Johnny Quest. He broke into film with Animal House where he played Otter, and also appeared in 1941,Feltch and a cameo in Van Wilder. He was nominated for an Emmy award for his role as Hoynes in 2002 and 2003. He has also directed three episodes of Psych, a show that stars his West Wing castmate Dulé Hill.
