Islam is a minority religion in Singapore. 15% of the country's population are Muslims. A majority of Malay Singaporeans are Sunni Muslims. Other adherents include Indian and Pakistani communities as well as a small number of Chinese, Arabs and Eurasians. 7% of Muslims in Singapore are of Indian origin. There are 69 mosques in Singapore. With the exception of Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim (which is administered by the State of Johor), all the mosques in Singapore are administered by Muis. 23 mosques were built using the Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund (MBMF). Masjid Al-Mawaddah, the twenty-third MBMF mosque, was officially opened in May 2009.
