How this dark organization was founded is unknown. It is known, howerev, that Kurokamen and Kitsunekamen seem to be the ones to have founded the Masked Shadows. According to Kurokamen, the Masked Shadows "shall rule over the lands and stand over the skies". This organizations first real move after being founded was to hire Kurokage Yomino, a missing-nin originally from Amegakure, and his accomplices to ambush Hotaku Kamateru and his genin team, of which Takatsuke Uzumaki is a part of. This was apparently to check Takatsuke's level of ability and probably to make him "release his true power". Why is all this interest on Takatsuke, is unknown.
