  • In 2364, the location of Ross 154 was labeled in a star chart of a stellar neighborhood with Sol at the center. This chart was stored in the USS Enterprise-D library computer. Later that year, the chart was scanned by Outpost 63. (TNG: "The Naked Now" , production art; TNG: "The Last Outpost" )

abstract
  • On several occasions in 2364, viewscreen readouts aboard the USS Enterprise-D showed the location of Ross 154, in the form of charts from the Enterprise library computer. (TNG episodes: "The Naked Now", "The Last Outpost", "Conspiracy") The Chronology depicted Ross 154's name and distance from Earth on star chart illustrations, but since it is a "real" star, modern scientists know a few things about its makeup that weren't in its Star Trek mentions. It is notable that Ross 154 was briefly glimpsed onscreen in canon productions of Star Trek because the production staff copied their star charts from the earlier, non-canon Chronology. Given its close proximity to Earth, its possible that Ross 154 is in or near sector 001, although this hasn't been stated in Star Trek publications. Neither real observations nor the Chronology info has specified whether or not there is a star system associated with this body.
  • In 2364, the location of Ross 154 was labeled in a star chart of a stellar neighborhood with Sol at the center. This chart was stored in the USS Enterprise-D library computer. Later that year, the chart was scanned by Outpost 63. (TNG: "The Naked Now" , production art; TNG: "The Last Outpost" ) This star was only mentioned in writing. This star chart naming stars within 20 light years of Sol was drawn by Rick Sternbach for the Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology (p. 77) in the late 1970s. This chart showed Earth commercial and exploration routes after the use of warp drive began. There were no commercial or exploration routes to this system.
