  • A Filibuster is a tactic used in the US Senate by both Republicans and Democrats. Sigh.
  • A filibuster is an effort to extend debate or delay voting on a piece of legislation through continuous speech-making. The filibuster was an oft-used tactic by Senators from the Southern states in the United States Senate in the 1960s. In 2296, while held captive by Romulans on planet Obsidian, Leonard McCoy attempted to emulate a 20th century filibuster, speaking at length about racing horses to forstall his execution. His Romulan guards, taking this as his Right of Statement on the topic of war beasts, allowed him to continue without interrupting. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge)
  • Filibuster is a cog move of Glad Handers. The attack's maximum damage is 15 and is the Glad Hander's second strongest attack.
  • Dr Filibuster was a wizard that created the Fabulous Wet-Start, No-Heat Fireworks, which the Weasley twins were known to use, or at least purchase, from time-to-time. Harry Potter once predicted that the Weasley twins' line of fireworks would put Filibuster out of business, though whether this actually happened or not is unknown.
  • In a legislature or other decision making body, a filibuster is an attempt to obstruct a particular decision from being taken by using up the time available, typically through an extremely long speech. A similar form of parliamentary obstruction practiced in the United States and other countries is called "slow walking". It specifically refers to the extremely slow speed with which legislators walk to the podium to cast their ballots. For example, in Japan this tactic is known as a "cow walk". In general it refers to the intentional delay of the normal business of the legislature [1].
  • A filibuster or stall refers to when you play defensively, causing a time out. This is accomplished by using up the whole 180 seconds of battle time to outlast, rather than knockout, the other robo. Stalling is especially useful when your opponent is using a direct counter to your set. The method has a very simple premise, but it is often very difficult to pull off because it relies solely on evasive skills.

abstract
  • In a legislature or other decision making body, a filibuster is an attempt to obstruct a particular decision from being taken by using up the time available, typically through an extremely long speech. The term first came into use in the United States Senate, where Senate rules permit a senator, or a series of senators, to speak for as long as they wish and on any topic they choose. The term comes from the early 17th century, where Buccaneers were known in England as filibusters. This term had evolved from the Spanish filibustero which had come from the French word flibustier, which again evolved from the Dutch vrijbuiter (freebooter). File:Fili.jpg

Stalling is especially useful when your opponent is using a direct counter to your set. The method has a very simple premise, but it is often very difficult to pull off because it relies solely on evasive skills. It is also possible to create a semi defensive and offensive sets combined with your evasive skills to create a hit and run set. Although similar to a vet's play style which involves all skills, it's only difference is that you fight more evasively and only fire when your foe is vulnerable then wait until they make another mistake. Usually used with fast robos.
