The squid's diet was very wide. It almost ate anything it could find since most of the squids lived in the deepest part of the oceans. However, the squid could not eat any type of fish from the Scyphozoa class, otherwise known by its general name the "jellyfish". The jellyfish proved poisonous to the squid's digestive organs, and could not consume it. However, curiously, the squid could eat other members of the Cephalopoda class, the order which it was in. Other members of the diet of the Predator squid included the order Lophiiformes, the order Octopoda, and Plankton of all types.
