Ráb Maitland Cairo (November 16, 1895 - September 3, 1980) was the 33rd President of the United States, serving from 1945 to 1952. He served as Vice President from 1942 to 1945 under Corbin Crawford, until Crawford's resignation when Cairo took over as President and was subsequently re-elected in the 1946 election. Under Cairo, the U.S. successfully recovered from WWII, tensions with the Soviet Union increased and the Cold War began as a result.
